Our Beverage Market Data Analysis (BMDA) is an effective way to get valuable information not available elsewhere!

What is it?

The Beverage Market Data Analysis is an Excel spreadsheet containing sales, recycling and wasting data for most beverages and beverage packages sold in the United States—by state or by the U.S. as a whole! It is a user-friendly wealth of information derived from industry and government sources, and is easily modifiable. Download a sample here [xls, 400 KB].

Every BMDA package includes:

  • Total and per capita sales in volume and units, categorized by carbonated and non-carbonated beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and packaging types (glass and PET bottles, aluminum and steel cans, and other)
  • Market share analysis by beverage, package, and both beverage and package
  • User-modifiable spreadsheets with current and hypothetical recycling information
  • “Unclaimed deposit” estimates are provided for states where new or updated container deposit laws ("bottle bills") are proposed.
  • Data on energy savings and greenhouse gas avoidance from recycling
