Container Recycling Institute names executive director
The Container Recycling Institute has a new executive director.
Susan V. Collins brings more than 20 years of experience in solid waste, recycling and sustainability to the group.
"Susan´s leadership and background will drive container recycling solutions that will build both a more sustainable environment and a more sustainable economy," said Tex Corley, chairman of the CRI board.
Collins succeeds Betty McLaughlin, who stepped down earlier this year to take another job. CRI, a non-profit group, was created in 1991 and was led by founder Pat Franklin for its first 16 years.
Collins has been a manager and director at firms including SCS Engineers, R3 Consulting Group and HF&H Consultants.
"CRI´s potent network of recycling professionals is the primary reason I joined CRI. I´m excited to conduct new research and re-frame thinking on container recycling systems," Collins said.
